Comparison of cell segmentation methods for label-free microscopy: Q-Phase between the best

An excellent comparison of the state-of-the-art cell segmentation methods for label-free microscopy has been lately done by scientists of Masaryk University.

With the Dice coefficient of 0.82, the all-in-one dry mass guided watershed algorithm (aioDMGW) implemented in Q-Phase software was evaluated as one of the two best-performing algorithms for label-free cell segmentation.

The algorithm is based on quantitative phase imaging (QPI), which is an emerging imaging method stated by the study like the one providing the highest segmentation efficiency and throughput.
