Current research

Tomáš investigates translation control during stress conditions and factors involved in the regulation.

What do you find the most fascinating about your research?

The possibility to elucidate yet undiscovered in such a basic process as is protein synthesis.

What do you see as a problem in live-cell research?

To ensure proper conditions for cells to survive (phototoxicity, temperature, CO2) and image acquisition speed (fast enough).

Could you describe your experience using Q-Phase?

The quantitative phase imaging is the feature I appreciate the most. It offers high quality images and quantitative data, which cannot be easily obtained elsewhere. I also appreciate the possibility to combine phase imaging with the fluorescence microscopy. I like effective technical support, too.
